While watching all of the publicity hype for the premier of the movie, MacGruber, it seemed as if the character Vicki St. Elmo, played by Kristin Wiig, got a taste of her VERY OWN hairy situation.  She talked on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon about the hot-and-bothered sex scene her and MacGruber (played by Will Forte) had, on her birthday nonetheless.

Wiig said that there was absolutely no A/C, it was 95-degrees, on satin sheets, and both she and Forte were drenched in sweat.  To put a little cherry on top – Wiig explained that during this sex scene Forte’s chest looked like a SWEATER and it was acting like a “vessel” for the sweat to drip on her – EWWW!!!

At least Wiig and Forte have been long-time friends and they can joke about this hairy mess, literally.

Ladies – have you ever gotten into a situation like this? Have you ever said anything to your significant other??

Hello EARLY SUMMER and HUMIDITY!! The weather is trying to prove that it can get the best of us….okay maybe in our sweltering, NYC apartments LACKING central air, BUT not when it comes to wearing flirty summer dresses and short shorts.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who HATES shaving EVERY day, especially when running late in the AM to work…the last thing I want to do is cut a gash in my leg from rushing.  And forget it if you accidentally ignore to apply moisturizer, you feel GROOOOOSSS!!

The best plan for gals like me…(choir singing) HAIR INHIBITOR (choir singingcompletely bare completely smooth is a godsend, not only does it slow down hair growth, length and density but it has moisturizers so I technically don’t forget to lather up! In addition if can be used anywhere on the body, so MINI’s and RAZORS BEWARE!!!!

You discuss with your best friends about the most intimate details of your life: relationships, men, sex, grooming. However, it takes the anonymity of a seasoned specialist to make you feel truly safe enough to ask the most personal and seemingly embarrassing questions.

One common question that most women are afraid to ask is “hair or no hair”? Should I take everything off? Should I leave some hair? How much hair is too much hair? The answer is always what makes you feel the
most comfortable and what makes you feel great. For most women, the most popular bikini shape is what they call a Brazilian bikini. This shape leaves what is now infamously called the landing strip…a narrow, rectangular section of hair located right above the labia. The landing strip can be as thin or as thick as you would like. The average size is about the width of two index fingers. If a landing strip is too risqué for you, there are other options to try! Many women prefer a triangle or even a square depending on their body type.

Then you have your creative types. I’m talking lightening bolts, hearts, even initials. Then you have the women who want to 86 their hair altogether going completely bare.

With all the choices out there, how does one decide? My advice is simple: try the newest and the latest but keep in mind what looks best on you. Unlike your Hanky Panky’s, bikini shapes are not one-size-fits-all. At completely bare spa, our spa specialists will work with a client to achieve the most flattering shape.

If you cannot get to a completely bare spa, here are some tips: If you’re curvy, a triangle with soft edges will give the appearance of a slender silhouette. If you have narrow hips, an inverted triangle will give the illusion of feminine curves. Last, but definitely not least, have your specialist evenly trim your shape to the desired length.

And remember ladies, if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. How many times do you change your hairstyle before you find the right one? Exactly.

  1. Hello,
I have a question… is it possible to have too much hair “down there” that one cannot get a bikini wax?

    Thanks,

Now here’s a hairy situation that my lifelong friend and I experienced while on vacation last year . Since I wasn’t blogging last holiday season  I wasn’t able to discuss this awkward encounter.

We decided to plan a tropical getaway on the spur of the moment…nothing but sand, water, Ray-Bans and itsy-bitsy bikinis.  Ok, so you’re immediately thinking that this story is headed “south” but you’re WRONG! See below…

It’s our second night out and we’re having an amazing dinner when two men approached us to join. To make a long story short, the one “gentleman” told my friend mid-conversation, “I love women with dark and hairy arms like yours.”

(Let’s just skip over the motivation behind that comment. . .)

My friend immediately burst in to tears, since she’s always had a complex about the hair on her arms.  When we got back to the room, I consoled her and then conveniently tossed her my hair inhibitor to reduce the growth and the length of the hair.

From my own personal experience and from seeing so many women with the same hairy situations, I know firsthand that there usually is a way to help reduce and remove hair and FINALLY FEEL CONFIDENT!

What’s your hairiest situation??

I’ve heard that you need to have about six treatments of laser hair removal. Will I really need that many? – Carla

Here’s the scoop: When you’re dealing with the Human Body, every body reacts differently, but everyone does need at least six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Human hair does not all grow at the same rate. The hair that gets destroyed during treatments is in the Anagen Stage of growth (easy to be remembered as “active”), occurring about every 4-6 weeks.

However only 10-15% of hair is in the Anagen Stage at the same time, which is why you need to go for at least six sessions. Completely Bare offers a discount after your sixth session if you are not fully satisfied with your results. I must stress the importance of staying on schedule with your sessions, this way you are always catching the hairs in that “active” stage of growth.

  1. So glad I read this…I hear mixed things, someplaces say four, others say 12!
    Thanks for the clarification!

  2. Hi Carla ,
I went to completely bare for chin and lip laser hair removal. I was told it would take more than six sessions due to hormones . They are great because after my existing investment
I paid 135 for fifteen minutes of touch ups . Well it only takes 2 to 3 minutes per session . I have used about 8 minutes and have 7minutes credit if any hairs pop ou next year
    Good Luck

Karen ( who did it and done it)

This may seem dumb, but, with laser treatment is there re-growth after the final treatment? if s how long will the “bare” effect last?

  4. I am a man and desperately need to have pretty much full body hair removal, is there a package for that?

  5. Hi,I’m 32 yrs old and I am interested in having upper lip and chin hair removal. How many sessions will that take to completely be hair free, is it depending on your hormones as a woman. I use a Twezzerman and sometimes develop ingrown hair so I was looking for a different approach.
    Thanks-Pat
