You discuss with your best friends about the most intimate details of your life: relationships, men, sex, grooming. However, it takes the anonymity of a seasoned specialist to make you feel truly safe enough to ask the most personal and seemingly embarrassing questions.

One common question that most women are afraid to ask is “hair or no hair”? Should I take everything off? Should I leave some hair? How much hair is too much hair? The answer is always what makes you feel the
most comfortable and what makes you feel great. For most women, the most popular bikini shape is what they call a Brazilian. This shape leaves what is now infamously called the landing strip…a narrow, rectangular section of hair located right above the labia. The landing strip can be as thin or as thick as you would like. The average size is about the width of two index fingers. If a landing strip is too risqué for you, there are other options to try! Many women prefer a triangle or even a square depending on their body type.

Then you have your creative types. I’m talking lightening bolts, hearts, even initials. Then you have the women who want to 86 their hair altogether going completely bare.

With all the choices out there, how does one decide? My advice is simple: try the newest and the latest but keep in mind what looks best on you. Unlike your Hanky Panky’s, bikini shapes are not one-size-fits-all. At completely bare spa, our specialists will work with a client to achieve the most flattering shape.

If you cannot get to a completely bare spa, here are some tips: If you’re curvy, a triangle with soft edges will give the appearance of a slender silhouette. If you have narrow hips, an inverted triangle will give the illusion of feminine curves. Last, but definitely not least, have your specialist evenly trim your shape to the desired length.

And remember ladies, if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. How many times do you change your hairstyle before you find the right one? Exactly.

Hi Jenna,

For any wax, your hair should be about 1/4 of an inch long;  the perfect length to ensure that the wax has enough hair to grab securely onto, prolonging the time between waxes.

The completely bare wax is $82.  If you want the “relax” wax, which includes a pre-wax numbing cream applied to the area, the cost is $92.

There are no stupid questions, especially in the world of bikini waxes!!

A Brazilian bikini wax is a wax that includes the removal of the hair from the labia and the inner buttocks. A Brazilian may seem a little shocking at first but it is enormously popular right now. A “completely bare” wax which, as the name implies, means taking it ALL off is becoming increasingly popular as well. Seems less is always more…

I have been getting Brazilian’s for about 4 years now and have become a complete addict for bare, baby skin! When I moved to Kansas City, I decided to attempt a “do-it-yourself” session. It really wasn’t bad. I paid close attention to my estatician during our appointments and found a great wax. I’ve moved back home now and can’t remember the wax I used. Any recommendations? I could always go back to my original salon, but I was getting quite good, so why?

Does “Moom” sound familiar to anyone? Thanks.
